Another great read. Liked the piece on Ground down and on summing up We work, it was never a new idea, renting out space, everyone bought into the concept of it.

What does seem to be persisting from the pandemic is the move to reshore manufacturing to some extent. I suppose that's partially to avoid being unable to get goods on shore and partially to move manufacturing out of China.

I agree with your description regarding the data sharing clause for auto. It made me laugh. Sad thing is I would gladly hand over my data to my auto brand if I were getting just a semblance of better driving/service experience and above all safety. But I'm not. It's just another example, if it's happening in any way at all, of voracious data capture for no real purpose. Perhaps for law enforcement. My experience with the digital services for a 2023 car, having reluctantly let go a 20 year old car is just abysmal. A real disappointment. One would have hoped this industry would have caught up with digital services in these last 20 years by joining the dots digitally in their complex value chain (OEM, distributor, dealer, post sales) and also by some very simple hygenic user experience elements within the car. I find myself pressing far more buttons and almost a pre-flight process just to get moving. I then get spammed by 2 separate dealers for light warning on the dash (an irrelevant one). To top it all, to get the supposed full benefits, I am required to pay for yet another SIM based subscription instead of just adding it to my existing mobile data plan. I think a will revert to classic cars going forward.

Thanks for the newsletter, always an education.
